Canasta- August Schnibble
I ran out of time this month with Canasta. I had three kids to get ready for college with move in dates at the end of August. I tried to spend time with family and treasure up this fleeting moments when everyone is home. My oldest, Chris, is a junior this year. He is studying criminal justice/ psychology in Maine. Our youngest are twins that are two years younger than Chris. Our daughter is a freshman this year studying early childhood education also in Maine. The colleges are about 2 hours from each other. Our other son is staying home and attending the local community college studying animation and graphic design. We are almost empty nesters but not quite. I wish I still had younger kids at home.

I made my Canasta with red fabric that I had on hand. My fabric coordinated to well and it looks like I don't have a four patch in the middle but I do. I haven't decided if I will put a border on my or just bind it in a red fabric. I love the look of the two color quilt and think it will be the perfect quilt for Christmas. It is a Schnibbles pattern by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. Canasta is now ready for the parade over at Sinta's and Sherri's blog. Be sure to check out all of the cute Schnibbles on September 1 when the parade takes place. The pattern for the next month will be revealed then.
Your Canasta is beautiful! I know what you mean about being over committed during the month of August. I don't think I could have fit one more thing into that month! Things are beginning to settle down and I am looking forward to getting back to sewing.
