If He Had Not Come

If He Had Not Come

If He Had Not Come, a Christmas story by Nan F. Weeks set in the ‘30s, asks the profound question: What if Jesus Christ had never come to Earth? David Nicholson provides a refreshing update to this timeless classic, originally included in Cynthia Pearl Maus’ anthology entitled, Christ in the Fine Arts. Through an eye-opening, somewhat bewildering dream, a young boy discovers some of the enormous changes the world would face if Jesus had never come to Earth.

This book is for children but has a wonderful message for adults too. What if Jesus hadn’t come? There would have been no churches, children's homes, hospitals, or homeless shelters. How would my life look? It is a very thought provoking book. This book should be added to your Christmas book list of holiday favorites.

THE LEGEND OF THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE

The Legend of the Christmas Cookie tells the story of a young boy named Jack who learns from his generous mother the story behind the Christmas cookie. The family who began the tradition of baking the special cookies gave them to the needy and shared the story of the very first Christmas. This sweet holiday book offers inspiration for readers to become cheerful givers themselves and encourages them to share the true tale of Jesus' birth. A delicious recipe is included on the jacket flap so readers can make their own Christmas sugar cookies.

This book is beautifully written and the illustrations are wonderful. I will be using this book at our church. I also see it becoming a Christmas favorite. This is a great book to teach children the importance of sharing with others and giving to those in need.
