Isn't this what jesus does in our lives if we let Him? Sounds like Jesus is the true friend that we are looking for, that our heart desires.He is there by our side through thick and thin. God has promied never to leave us or forsake us.

Oh that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me; for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above to bear it to dark Calvary.
